Replacement D-Sub 19 DB19 Cable on Klyde’s Korner

New product on Klyde's Korner: the D-Sub 19 adapter data cable (or DB-19), flat cable based, for connecting your ACSI Atari ST hard drive, your Apple II external floppy drive or a NeXT monitor.

D-Sub 19 / DB-19 connectors have not been produced for years, and cables in this format have become almost impossible to find.

Steve, an American, recently had 10,000 DB-19 connectors remanufactured in China and is recounting his experience on his blog. http://www.bigmessowires.com/2016/06/04/db-19-resurrecting-an-obsolete-connector/ He sold most of them to people who sought to take advantage of the opportunity to resell them for profit, particularly on eBay.

So, after recovering an Atari Megafile 30 hard drive without its connector, I developed this adapter and can now share it with you. It has been tested with my Megafile 30, which works perfectly.

The connection is direct (1 -> 1, 19 -> 19) and its maximum length is around 14 cm, which is sufficient to connect a hard drive to a Mega ST. For a greater length, simply use a 20-pin IDC ribbon cable that will plug into the adapter PCBs.
