The video converter for Atari 2600 SECAM comes as a DIY electronic project kit. Knowledge of soldering electronic components is required to complete this project. Although quite simple, this project is not recommended for beginners in electronics, because it requires delicate soldering on the electronic board of the Atari 2600 console.
If you prefer the version with the components already soldered, see the Assembled version.

A few years ago, Eddy Foucault invented a video converter for the Atari 2600 SECAM version, which adds a video output to the console with a SCART socket.

You will find his project very well documented on his blog, which I recommend.

With his permission, I had the PCB manufactured. Thank you Mr. Eddy!

Warning: This video converter works for the Atari 2600 SECAM version, but also PAL and potentially NTSC. But by using this mod on a PAL console, like the Atari 2600 junior, you will only get the color SECAM palette. Indeed, the Atari 2600 SECAM can only display 8 colors, against 104 for the PAL version and 128 for the NTSC version, hence the “flashy” colors with the SECAM version. For more info see here: or here: http://

Only the PCB is provided. If you wish to have all the components needed for the assembly, see the Kit version. You will also have to solder wires between the converter and the motherboard of your Atari 2600 console. This operation is delicate and not recommended for beginners in electronics (the first Atari 2600 on which I tried it still remembers it), I suggest using small section wire, AWG30 type (not supplied).

You will also need a cable and a SCART socket for this assembly (not supplied).
