Description
The PS/2 Atari Eiffel adapter allows you to connect a PS/2 keyboard and mouse to your Atari Mega ST(E) or Atari TT on the keyboard port (RJ12).
Although compatible in theory, the PS/2 Atari Eiffel adapter cannot be connected to the Atari STF or Atari STE or Falcon which have an integrated keyboard, because it uses an RJ12 port (telephone cable) which the Atari STE/F and Falcon do not have. To use a PS/2 or USB mouse on an Atari STF or STE, get a USB Atari-Amiga mouse and joystick adapter to plug into the joystick port instead.
This version of the adapter includes two joystick ports (Joy0 and Joy1) in addition to being able to connect a keyboard and a mouse in PS/2 format.
The joystick ports do not emulate the mouse function, so you cannot plug an Atari mouse into the joystick port.
The Atari Eiffel adapter sold on this website is programmed with the 1.10.1Mq firmware version which fixes a bug with the joystick trigger.
Preferably use a native PS/2 keyboard and mouse, (for the latter, either a ball or optical mouse, both work). Avoid wireless PS/2 keyboards and mice as some seem to be incompatible.
You can use USB to PS/2 adapters like the ones shown ONLY if your keyboard and mouse are PS/2 compatible, which is becoming rare. We can notably mention the Dacomex M110-UP mouse and the Dacomex M150-UP keyboard (AZERTY), or the Cherry Wheel Mouse Optical mouse, and the Cherry G80-3000 keyboard, finally some products of the VSeven brand or of the Perixx brand would be USB-PS/2 compatible. I have not tested ANY of these keyboards or mice, so you buy at your own risk! Contact me if you have reliable information. Otherwise you have to look at the second-hand option (the mouse Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1APS/2 compatible, tested by me, works with the Atari Eiffel).
The Atari Eiffel PS/2 adapter is a Plug-And-Play device, ready to use, and requires no drivers.
To connect the adapter to your Atari, you will need a straight RJ12 (6P6C) cable (not supplied with the Atari Eiffel).
If you wish, you can 3D print (0.2mm) an enclosure suitable for the Atari Eiffel using the provided STL files.
Did you know? The name Eiffel comes from the initials of the inventor of the adaptor, Laurent Favard. In French, "F.L. Project" sounds like "Eiffel Project".

Merci ! J’étudie justement la possibilité d’ajouter un boitier imprimé 3D à l’adaptateur Eiffel.
